Bio

Vanessa Palomba is an Anglo-Italian fine artist and educator who lives and works in Rome. Vanessa holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Wolverhampton and a PGCE in Art and Design from Liverpool John Moores University. She started her career in England with exhibitions in private galleries. After moving to Italy, she attended the Scuola Libera del Nudo in Venice and has continued to work as a painter, exhibiting regularly in Italy and abroad. Her work is part of private collections in England, Italy and Turkey. She also teaches History of Art CLIL in high schools in Rome and for the past two years has been collaborating with Rome Art Program, an en-plein air drawing and painting program for international art students.

She is currently working on The Illuminated Certificates Project with the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican; the certificates are modern takes on Medieval illuminations and are given to those who have supported

the restoration of artworks in the Vatican museums.

Vanessa’s work investigates contemporary social issues. Her collages and prints are mental landscapes in which photographic images are cut out and combined with materials belonging to her everyday life in order to underline the impact of collective history on her own personal story.
